Chocolate City’s Major AJ Releases Retro Themed Debut Project Titled “Retroverse”.
Chocolate City’s newest signee Ajogwu Boluwatife also known as Major AJ is bursting into the scene with a sizzling, hot and sensational collection of rare African disco-inspired music in his new EP “Retroverse”. The 5-track EP is the perfect blend of disco vibes from the 70s and beautiful Afrobeats sensations.
Retroverse is an evocative, peculiar 5-track project by a young, energetic and versatile artist driven to become one of the best the world has ever heard. It has a nostalgic, throwback feel while infusing the beautiful Yoruba language. This project gives an insight into the mind of Major AJ as he easily conveys his emotions in a very relatable way.
Kicking off the EP is “Afrodisco” a feel good and catchy song that expresses AJ’s toxic relationship with a woman he deeply cares for. On this Dunnie produced track, the warm gentle keys and passionate drums complements AJ’s vocals. “Taboo” an exciting and well written song that entails a fantastical scenario where AJ finds himself with a quite intriguing woman.
The ultimate disco themed track “Mr Lover” is inspired by music in the 70s and excitement of being in love. On “Ominirascal” creates the perfect experience for listeners with an interpretation of his never attitude to woo a woman regardless of how hard to get she might be.
